Quality control is absolutely critical to success for National OnDemand as we expand across the country, but there simply aren’t enough labor resources in existence today. That’s why we’ve designed training centers that allow us to hire workers with little or no experience in telecommunications and teach them how to perform with the consistent quality we’ve come to be known for.
When applying for a career with National OnDemand, applicants need not worry about a lack of experience. Our training begins on day one and continues throughout the life of the employee as they grow with National OnDemand.
Fiber Splicing Training
Fiber splicing training covers key areas such as understanding fiber standards and industry color coding, reading fiber design maps and matrices, and organizing fiber tails, mid-sheath, and trays. Participants learn to prepare various closures, including taps, B/D closures, and OFDCs, while gaining hands-on experience with essential tools like core alignment fusion splicers, cleavers, strippers, and one-click cleaners. The training also includes OTDR and IOLM testing for network validation and troubleshooting techniques to ensure efficient fiber network performance.
Technology Deployment Training
Our Technology Deployment Training Center is designed to prepare Last Mile Technicians with the knowledge and skills they need to excel in connecting customers to high-speed services. The program emphasizes safety and technical proficiency, blending online coursework, field training, and certification programs. Participants gain expertise in diverse areas, including Fiber to the Home, wireless communications, CATV, and drop burying, ensuring they can handle any deployment challenge with confidence.
The curriculum also includes certifications like FASA/BASA, SCTE, BOSCH, and LEZAGE, as well as ladder and low-voltage training to ensure technicians meet industry standards. With a focus on both technical and safety training, this program not only enhances individual capabilities but also reinforces National OnDemand's commitment to delivering exceptional service and building lasting customer relationships.
Aerial Lineman Training
At our Aerial Lineman Training Center, trainees gain the expertise and confidence to perform fiber construction safely and efficiently. The program blends classroom instruction, simulated pole training, and on-the-job learning to cover essential topics like climbing techniques, hazard identification, PPE use, and aerial lift operation. Participants also learn to follow strand and fiber construction specifications, handle tools correctly, and master trailer setup and back-pull techniques. Beyond building technical skills, the program creates pathways to rewarding careers, empowering trainees to help bring high-speed internet to underserved communities while securing their future with National OnDemand.
Leadership Training
Strong leadership is the cornerstone of team success and organizational growth. Our Leadership Training program is tailored to empower managers and supervisors with the skills they need to inspire and guide their teams effectively. The curriculum focuses on essential areas such as goal setting and achievement, communication and interpersonal skills, and emotional intelligence, helping leaders foster collaboration and trust within their teams.
