Position Summary:
The Fiber Splicing Manager assumes a pivotal role in coordinating, managing, and optimizing all aspects of project fiber splicing, testing, and documentation to ensure exceptional quality and timely project delivery.
Primary Position Duties:
- Experienced in industry fiber splicing standards.
- Read, understand, and interpret fiber splice matrix.
- Review and understand statement of work per client specifications.
- Track daily production for fiber splicing to ensure project timeline is maintained.
- Provide Construction Manager with final fiber splicing documentation and documentation deliverables.
- Keep the Construction Manager updated on the daily splicing progress of the project.
- Evaluate Fiber Splicer’s performance and provide coaching.
- Responsible for vehicle maintenance and inventory control of all on-site splicing equipment and tools.
- Responsible for workforce compliance with all safety regulations including all OSHA requirements.
- Interact with subcontractors and field personnel regarding work completion and resolve conflicts when necessary.
- Review and authorize daily work reports.
- At times, may be required to perform work along with field personnel.

- Frequent standing, talking, and hearing.
While performing job duties, the employee is required to:
- Office setting for some duties.
- Occasional outdoor work in various weather conditions.
- Exposure to dust, temperature fluctuations, and periodic high noise levels.
- Up to 50% travel within the United States.
- Possibility of staying away from home for up to 14 days at a time.
Education or Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 5 years or more experience and knowledge of all aspects of fiber splicing including fiber testing and interpretation of testing results.
- 5 years or more experience of industry standard fiber splicing and testing equipment.
- Ability to effectively troubleshoot and correct fiber splicing issues and faults.
- Knowledge of outside plant safety procedures.
- Ability to direct crews and communicate with teammates and customers.
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook).
- Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills required.
- Ability to think analytically and apply sound judgment, solve problems & make effective decisions.
- Must be able to work nights and weekends, if necessary.
- Must be able to work in all weather conditions.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
- Must be able to pass drug, background, DOT & MVR screenings.
