Job purpose

NATIONAL OnDemand, Inc. is actively seeking an experienced FP&A Manager to become a part of our fast-growing organization.  The FP&A Manager will be a key player on our accounting team based in our corporate headquarters in Burlington, NC, reporting directly to the Corporate Controller. 

Duties and responsibilities

The FP&A Manager will support strategic decision making throughout the Company and play a critical role in our budgeting, financial analysis and financial close processes, performing the following duties:

  • Work closely with Operations and Executive leadership to drive our annual budget process
  • Work independently to oversee the reforecasting process, including conducting regular meetings with leaders throughout the Company to discuss budget-to-actual variances and preparing reforecasts based on the current trajectory of each office or department
  • Conduct a financial analysis on monthly results to identify areas of potential improvement or cost savings
  • Work with the Corporate Controller to analyze monthly budget-to-actual variances and assist in preparing a financial commentary and KPI analysis for review by Executive Leadership and Board of Directors
  • Work closely with Operations leadership to evaluate potential new client work, including assessing potential pricing and labor cost alternatives
  • Assist in the monthly financial close process where appropriate, including assessing and implementing potential chart of accounts updates to aid in the budgeting and reforecasting process
  • Assist in the evaluation of potential acquisition targets, including participating or potentially leading due diligence efforts and advising Executive leadership on the potential merits or risks associated with potential targets
  • Identify areas for potential process improvements and assist in implementing solutions, specifically geared towards systems enhancements to improve budgeting and reforecasting processes
  • Assist in maintaining appropriate processes and internal controls documentation
  • Work with the Corporate Controller and others to perform Ad Hoc analysis as requested by Operations leadership


Qualifications and relevant experience should include:

  • Minimum of 7 years in an FP&A or Finance/Accounting-related field with a proven track record in building relationships with and supporting Executive leadership
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting, with a strong understanding of financial planning, modeling and variance analysis
  • Strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Flexibility to balance multiple projects and responsibilities
  • Able to work independently and demonstrate a high level of initiative
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel
