Position Summary:
We seek an experienced CDL Driver focusing on reliability and safety. The CDL Driver is responsible for day-to-day operations and maintenance of company vehicles and equipment needed to support company operations.
Primary Position Duties:
- Transport and deliver equipment and materials to various job sites safely and effectively
- Ensure proper load securement and tie down
- Abide by all company, DOT, State, and Federal transportation safety regulations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post trip inspections of equipment for defects and safe operation conditions before and after trips.
- Perform basic preventive maintenance to ensure fluid levels and tire pressure are maintained.
- Maintain records required for compliance with State and Federal regulations and including driver’s logs, records of fuel purchases, mileage records, and other records required by state and federal regulations.
- Report all accidents/incidents involving driver or company equipment immediately after an incident occurs to the Supervisor.
- Promptly report any delays due to breakdown, weather or traffic conditions, or other emergencies.
- Maintain regular phone communication throughout the workday.
- Follow directions provided by leaders.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
The physical demands for this job include:
- Working outdoors in all types of weather.
- Exposure to dust, fluctuating temperatures, and periodic high noise levels.
While performing job duties, the employee is required to:
- Use hands and fingers to handle, feel, or operate objects, tools, or controls.
- Reach with hands and arms.
- Stand, talk, and hear regularly.
Education or Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Class A Commercial Drivers License in good standing and medical card
- 5+ years of experience with heavy haul and transport utilizing a commercial drivers license.
- Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position.
- Flexibility to work nights and weekends, if necessary.
- Ability to work in all weather conditions.
- Authorized to work in the United States.
- Must pass drug, background, Department of Transportation (DOT), and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) screenings.
Travel:
- Travel to other project sites in different states will be required.
- Travel out of town 1-4 nights per week based upon company needs
