Position Summary:

National OnDemand, Inc. is a communications and utilities infrastructure provider delivering service solutions to the Fiber, Wireless, Energy and Technology sectors in the United States. Headquartered in Burlington, North Carolina, the Company provides full turnkey infrastructure solutions – on demand, anywhere across its service footprint and has secured and sustained its current standing in the market through the successful completion of mergers and acquisitions, along with demonstrable, steady organic growth.

Supervise High Split Project Field Technicians. Provide oversight to in-house technicians and contract labor management, including adherence to the scope of work and quality standards as business needs dictate. Ensure company goals of the team are achieved. Lead and ensure adherence to company safety requirements. Responsible for training, development, and supporting technicians.

Primary Position Duties:

  • Supervise a team of High Split Technicians to meet client expectations, technical quality, safety standards, and company goals.
  • Technical skill set to support a team in upgrading a HFC network while eliminating unnecessary network down time that impacts customer experience.
  • Proficient knowledge on balancing and verifying signal on outside plant (aerial/underground) coaxial devices (amplifiers, taps, splitters, etc.) and replacing/repairing hardware when necessary.
  • Ensure timely responsiveness on upgrade issues to include troubleshooting and restoration of services when needed.
  • Regularly observe and mentor employees regarding safety, quality, productivity, and individual growth.
  • Coordinate and reinforce employee/ partner training to ensure current quality standards are met.
  • Perform practical field evaluations to verify technical competencies and safe practices provide necessary feedback.
  • Ensure staff has and maintains necessary company-issued tools and equipment.
  • Maintain records and documents in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Establish positive workforce relations through effective communication and ongoing support.
  • Know, understand, and follow company policy.
  • Perform other duties as requested by the manager.

Position Requirements:

  • While performing duties, the employee will work primarily in the field. The employee may be required to work outdoors in all types of weather and may be exposed to dust, fluctuating temperatures, and periodic high noise levels.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel, or operate objects, tools, or controls and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to stand, talk, and hear.
  • Ability to use all types of manual and powered handheld tools, such as drills, hammers, wrenches, and screwdrivers.
  • Ability to safely use weight-bearing equipment within the maximum weight limitations of that equipment (such as aerial lift, safety harness, gaffs, and ladders.
  • Ability to carry, climb, and operate an extension ladder. (approx. 32 feet high and 90 pounds)
  • Ability to perform jobs from high places.

Education or Skills:

  • High school diploma or its equivalent.
  • 1+ year(s) combination of technical training and/or leadership.
  • 5+ years of experience, specifically in overseeing and providing troubleshooting support with network upgrades of coax and/or fiber networks.
  • Proficient in understanding of Hybrid Fiber Coaxial (HFC) networks, RF, AC, DC, and customer premise network required.
  • Proficient with Coax and/or fiber network installation and maintenance.
  • Proficient in telecommunications installation/service.
  • Understand our Operating Principles make them the guidelines for how you do your job.
  • Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position.
  • Must be able to work nights and weekends, if necessary
  • Must be able to work in all weather conditions.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
  • Must be able to pass drug, background, DOT & MVR screenings.
