National OnDemand’s leadership is well versed in the application of knowledge, skills, tools, and techniques of project management activities to meet the goals of the project. Our comprehensive approach to project management includes ensuring that our leadership fully grasps the entire scope of the project and that our team members have a thorough understanding of all components of the project.

Our Sr. Leadership team works with the client to facilitate communication, to ensure thorough understanding of all technical specifications and to work to foresee any upcoming obstacles to success of the project. We typically request weekly meetings with our client to discuss current issues and plan upcoming project phases and milestones.

National OnDemand’s leadership is well versed in the application of knowledge, skills, tools, and techniques of project management activities to meet the goals of the project.

Day to day project management is executed by the construction management team and overseen at the crew level by the supervisory team. Our management approach at this field level is to enable and empower this team to be facilitators and obstacle removers to ensure crews are safe, efficient and productive.

National OnDemand’s approach to QA/QC is to perform real time observation of the work while it is being performed. We believe that every one of our team members is responsible to ensure quality of the constructed plant. Dedicated QA inspectors monitor work as it is performed and record and report QA information.

National OnDemand manages project materials through our customized internal project management software platform. Typical materials management process flow consists of:

  • Material receipt and entry into the database
  • Material issuance to crews and capture of issued materials in the database
  • Weekly tracking and reporting of consumed materials
  • Routine material count and reconciliation (received vs. issued vs. inventory)

National OnDemand’s local project management team is keenly aware that the inception of a large project offers challenges to existing entities within the project area. Entities impacted can include other local utilities, municipal or county governments and local utility locating services. Listed below are some of the practices/methods that National OnDemand utilizes to minimize negative impact within the community from project execution.

Utility Locate Services

Our experience is that most Utility Locate Services are staffed to support typical weekly work flows. Locating existing underground utilities for a large fiber project will dramatically increase the need for location and identification of existing utilities to avoid damage to those utilities. National OnDemand teams partner with the local utility locating services (both in-house and third party) to identify and prioritize utility locate services. Our goal is always to produce completed project plant based on our client’s schedule needs while working to avoid damages to existing underground utilities’ facilities.

Cities/Municipalities

National OnDemand’s project leadership understand the impact on that a large fiber project can have on city/municipality infrastructure. National OnDemand will of course secure any required business or occupancy license/permit required. National OnDemand will establish relationships with city officials and agents to ensure that the city understands the impact of the project and is made aware of the locations project activities. We will also ensure that we are compliant with all city and county traffic management responsibilities and requirements. National OnDemand will work to ensure minimal disruption of normal traffic flows within and into and out of each town/city.

Other Utilities

National OnDemand’s project leadership team will work to establish good working relationships with their counterparts within other local utilities. Our project management approach includes routine communications with agents of local utilities (water, gas, power, communication). We have learned that routine communication with these entities serves to give these entities a good understanding of the project scope and provide channels of access into the National team. This approach helps to minimize project disruptions due to misunderstandings or miscommunications.
